Chewie's tales of cold desolation in the Boston harbor spurred Ann to get certified in warmer climes. This happened to be Bonaire, in 2012. Since then, we've returned (nearly) every year and stayed at the same cute Blachi Koko guesthouse next to the Carib Inn dive shop. In 2013 we towed along a group of friends, and under the moonlight we watched a spectacular show of ostracods spawning as they lit up the water with their bioluminescent sperm.

This was also our first time night diving in the benign shallows of Calabas Reef. We were immediately hooked, and returned with a Sola Nightsea the year after. The fluorescent life underwater opened up yet another new world!
